After many years of making mead at home, friends began telling me to open a meadery. At first it sounded like a pleasent dream that would probably just stay a dream. Afterall, I could make mead but had no idea how to start and run a meadery.
Then I began touring wineries and meaderies in Colorado. The more owners I talked to, the more I saw this dream could be a reality. All I needed was the right poeple. First I asked my brother for help. He was also a mead maker and is great with coming up with ideas on just about anything.
He and I started work on the meadery in October of 2007 and have not stopped since. The meadery took on a life of it's own and grew in ways no business plan could have directed. But our goal remained the same - Make mead that makes people say "Wow! I like that!".
Now our whole family is involved in the meadery and our friends help out alot. Every festival we go to, people want us back, have great times with us, and share in the meadery experience.
